Main Bi Character |

Category: Space opera
Summary: The main character, Jason, is a tough, powerful woman, the CEO of one of the biggest corporations in the galaxy. Shes also been known to steal gemstones for fun. Thats why she cant resist a dangerous challenge made by one of her top business competitors from the planet New Crete. Jason appears to be bi. I suspect the author might be bi or gay because of a couple of people in her acknowledgments. Mostly I liked the book, but it has a lot of detailed description and I tend to prefer more action, less description.

Hammer Town (2002)

Rosen, Selina Lesbian Author!

Main Lesbian Character |

Category: Science Fiction
Summary: This was a disappointment to me since I enjoyed Rosen's "Chains of " books. But Hammer Town needs about two more drafts and some serious editing. Even the main character, Hammer, is just a pale reflection of RJ from the "Chains of" books. I'm hoping this is a fluke and that her other books are better.

Morehouse, Lyda Lesbian Author!

Category: Science Fiction
Summary: In some ways my favorite of the books in this series. The writing is really good. The one thing that makes me give these a lower rating than perhaps others would is the religious mythology informing the books. Its just not an interest of mine. Id love to see Morehouse do some straight sci fi.

Rosen, Selina Lesbian Author!

Summary: Sequel to Chains of Freedom, and even better, I think. The plot was tighter, for one. The first twenty or thirty pages dragged a bit, but then it got much better. RJ is an awesome character. And Rosen has an excellent sense of detail. Good dialog, too.

Summary: RJ is fighting the Reliance, which is the global (galactic) human government based on greed and corruption. But she's doing it alone. Then she hooks up with some other rebels and form a ragtag army. What drives the book are the characters, who are all very interesting and very conflicted. RJ is awesome. Her self-assuredness and arrogance remind me of Achilles in the movie Troy. Because, like him, she really is that good. (I'm partial to tough female characters).

Summary: Second Valor book by Huff. I liked the character of Staff Sgt Torin Kerr so much that I missed her for a few days after I finished the book. A quote from the book jacket about her: As a heroine, Kerr shines. She is cut from the same mold as Ellen Ripley of the Aliens films.

Summary: Tabitha Jute is an awesome heroine. She can not only pilot spaceships, she can repair them after crash landings as well. Shes smart and brave and very human. I liked her a lot. I hated the main male character, however, which it made it hard to read the book. Tabitha didnt care much for him either, and I liked the book much better after she abandoned him on Venus.

Summary: I heard about Spin State from the author, who told me the main character was a lesbian, though in the spirit of truth in advertising, the main character lives in a future with much more fluid attitudes about gender and sexuality and is probably more accurately described as equal opportunity with a strong preference for girls.

Summary: Second book in the series about Ukiah Oregon, a half-alien/half-human young man who was raised by wolves and then by lesbians and now is a private investigator caught in the middle of a war between alien body-snatchers, some of whom are trying to take over the earth and others who are trying to protect it. Writing is so-so, but the plot and characters are engaging, and I find all of these books enjoyable reads, which is why they get 3s. Wen Spencer is a woman.
